Take 5 – Three Bets for Leicester vs. West Brom at 5/1 or Better

Home » News » Take 5 – Three Bets for Leicester vs. West Brom at 5/1 or Better

The Premier League clash between top four hopefuls Leicester City and relegation threatened West Bromwich Albion could hardly be better poised. Both sides need three points, but only one team can win. Who’ll win on the night? We’ve found three bets at odds of 5/1 or better that can please your wallet as well as your heart if you support either side or not.

Can Big Sam really lift The Baggies? His team will have to go for broke at the King Power.

It’s a cross-Midlands derby with a difference, and it could provide you with one of the best bets of the season so far. Let’s jump in like a two-footed tackle in the last minute of extra-time.

West Brom to win and Both Teams to Score (10/1)

Yes, we know, Leicester should win this game. In fact, we’d agree if you were tossing a coin, because Brendan Rodgers side have been terrific this season and perhaps never more so than on Sunday when they deservedly beat Southampton 1-0 to make it to Wembley to face Chelsea in the F.A. Cup final in May. But at odds of 10/1? West Brom are value.

The Foxes put their heart and soul into the game and that’s the thinking between backing The Baggies to outscore their opponents. It’s not because they’re better than their Midlands rivals, either man-for-man or as a collective, but they need the three points more.

It would superb if Leicester could qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top four, but with Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool all dropping points in their pursuit of the side led by Jamie Vardy, Leicester could have it in the back of their minds that a win is not absolutely vital.

While Leicester can still qualify for the Champions League after a defeat, surely only a win would give West Brom any hope of survival. Behind everyone except Sheffield United, anything other than three points would look to see Sam Allardyce’s side doomed before the run-in. The former Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers and West Ham manager (pictured above) has never been relegated from the Premier League.

Mbaye Diagne to Score; 5+ Corners for Each Team & Caglar Soyuncu to be Carded (100/1)

Also found in paddypower’s What Odds Paddy markets are two outside bets that have a real chance of coming off.

First, this treble chance relies on Mbaye Diagne grabbing a goal, something he has managed to do in recent games against Manchester United and Chelsea. A major contribution to that occurrence might be the Turkish centre-half Caglar Soyuncu finding his way into the referee’s notebook. The formidable defender has only just returned from a COVID isolation period and may fall victim to his committed nature against players who have enjoyed a week’s preparation for this game.

Add into those two distinct possibilities both teams getting five or more corners and you’re in for a 100/1 winner. With West Brom desperate for the points, they’ll be taking plenty of shots and Brendan Rodgers’ side always have their shooting boots on.

West Brom to Score in Both Halves and have 4+ Corners in Each Half (500/1)

The away side don’t even need to win the game in either the previous bet or this one to make you a huge profit. Against Chelsea, Sam Allardyce’s side peppered the goal with shots and their 5-2 win didn’t flatter them. We think they’ll find the artful Leicester side Rodgers has created a much tougher nut to crack, but to win this bet, West Brom could lose 5-2 and still bank you some serious cash.

The West Midlands outfit simply have to keep attacking come what may, and if they find the net either side of half-time, getting four corners in each half is a real possibility. We could all be bouncing if Big Sam’s boys go for it, win or not.
