You have to go as far back as the 1956-57 season to the last time Sevilla won the title, but that’s what Julen Lopetegui has given his side a fighting chance of attaining if they can claim a sixth consecutive win here.
Los Nervionenses remain unbeaten in the Spanish top-flight since exiting the Champions League early March, and are unarguably a very tough nut to crack at home. The hosts have 37 of their 70 points from 16 outings at this ground, so are very much the favourites coming into this one.
Athletic meanwhile travel to Seville rueing a late Shon Weissman equaliser for Real Valladolid which sealed a 2-2 draw last Wednesday. They did beat league leaders Atletico Madrid on the weekend, but that is their only win from their last eight La Liga games.
The paucity of goals have not done done Marcelino’s side any good, with just five in their last five in the division. Up against a Sevilla side who’s got ten in the same number of outings, and saw off stubborn opposition in Granada last time out, we reckon they could be in for a very tough evening come Monday.

However, Unai Vencedor is available again for selection after his suspension.
