PORTUGAL VS GERMANY PREVIEW AND BETTING TIPS

Home » News » PORTUGAL VS GERMANY PREVIEW AND BETTING TIPS

Portugal look to build on their win over Hungary against a German side that’s in desperate need of a win or risk being eliminated at the group stages of a second consecutive major tournament.

European Championship 2020
Date: 19/06/2021
Kickoff: 17:00
Venue: Football Arena Munich

A Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal looked like they were going to have to settle for just a point against Hungary in their opening game but a late barrage of goals in the final ten minutes helped secure a 3-0 victory in the end.

Ronaldo scored twice himself as he broke the European Championship scoring record and is just four goals shy of breaking Ali Daei’s international goalscoring record, so Germany need to keep the Portuguese superstar out of the game for as long as they possibly can. A point for Portugal will all but secure safe passage into the next round but Fernando Santos’ men will have all eyes on the three points instead.

Germany suffered a first ever opening day defeat at the Euros as they went down 1-0 at home to France and now have their backs against the wall.

They need to win against the Selecao to keep their automatic qualification hopes alive. Germany didn’t attack France nearly enough and will need to quickly try to exploit Portugal’s defence in order to take anything from this game.
