Third-placed Sevilla travel to the Estadi Olimpic Camilo Cano on Monday to lock horns with Levante in the first match of round 29 of the La Liga season.

The visitors head into tie fresh from an impressive 2:0 win over Real Betis in what was the curtain-raiser for the seasons’ restart. Julian Leptogui’s boys will be looking to continue the run that has seen them go unbeaten in seven games in all competitions.

Levante meanwhile return to action following their 1:1 draw with Valencia last time out. The hosts head into the tie sitting on position with 34 points from 28 games.

They will be looking to record their first win in three tries since recording their last win over Real Madrid.

Team news

Paco Lopez is set to start the field the starting eleven that drew against Valencia last time out as only Ivan Lopez is the only injury absentee.

Julen Lopetegui has a fully fit squad with Spanish forward Munir El Haddadi, the only injury doubt for this tie.

Head to head

The last four meetings between both teams have resulted in four wins for Sevilla with a scoreline of 14:3. The last time Levante won this tie was in 2018.

Betting preview

Levante are outside favorites for this tie as they head into the game without a win in three games. In their last ten games in all competitions, the home team have averaged 0.9 goals per game while conceding eight times in that period.

Their record of four clean sheets in the league—all coming at home—makes them one of the sides with the least clean sheets in the league. To put it into context, only RCD Espanyol have kept fewer clean sheets in the league this season.

The hosts have scored first in only twelve of the La Liga matches they have played this season, with seven of these twelve arriving at home. They tend to concede first away (10) than they do at home (5).

More of their goals also tend to come in the second half with 21 scored in the second half of games against twelve in the opening 45 minutes. In their last five games both home and away, Levante have scored two in the first half and two in the second half with only one game going goalless.

Sevilla meanwhile are betting favorites for this tie with three wins from the last five games. In that period, they scored ten goals and conceded four, while keeping three clean sheets.

The visitors are one of the best performers away from home with a record of six clean sheets away from home (joint top with Real Madrid) in La Liga this season.

They have also scored 20 times away from home, with only Real Madrid scoring more times away from home than them.

Julian Lopetegui’s men are early starters with eleven first half wins (D14, L3) in the league this season. The majority of their points have come in the first half, and they also have conceded less in the first half of games (11) than in the second half (18). However, they have also scored more in the second half with 21 goals against the 20 scored in the first.

In their last five La Liga games, the visitors have scored six times in the first half, with five coming in the second period. However, they failed to score in both halves in two of those five encounters.
