Leicester City are odds-on to claim yet another record-extending victory on Saturday, so it could be another long afternoon for struggling Norwich at the King Power.

Kick-off: 16: 00 UK Time
Venue: King Power stadium

Brendan Rodgers side underlined their ‘title ambitions’ when they thrashed Aston Villa 4-1 on Sunday, setting a new club record of eight successive topflight wins. Jamie Vardy yet again showed his mettle in the victory, helping himself to a brace, the eighth consecutive time he’s found the net this season.

Following their latest victory, Rodgers has been quick to downplay any notions of challenging Liverpool who remain eighth points clear at the top, for the title just yet. But the numbers the Foxes are swiftly racking up is quite staggering — another win here will leave them five more victories away from matching Arsenal’s run in the 2002 title-winning campaign.

Leicester have won plaudits all season for their disciplined approach at the rear, yet they retain that tendency to go goal-crazy upfront as have already been illustrated in very big wins versus Newcastle and Southampton.

They could fill their boots with a couple more here, and the in-form Vardy particularly will fancy his chances against a side that parade the second-worst defence in the league: only Southampton (35) have conceded more than Norwich’s 34 goals so far.

The Canaries suffered their second successive 2-1 loss to Sheffield United last time out, that one coming after they had led all through half time. They have lost the most games in the division (11) so far, with six of the defeats coming on the road from their eight away league games this season.

Norwich are battling with relegation and their recent games have not yielded much dividends. They did beat Everton in their last away game in November but the Foxes are another animal. Norwich’s last five league games (LWDLL)

Betting preview

It is simply a case of the division’s best attack going up against it’s worst defence here. Leicester City have failed to score in just two of their 16 league games, and that was against teams in the top six (Wolves and Manchester United respectively). The goal options thus finds an appeal and opens up, particularly the over 3.5 market which is 23/20.

Jamie Vardy is the bookmakers favourite on the goalscorer markets and backing him will bring little value. But I will expect a player of James Maddison’s ilk to join the party. He’s priced up at a better 15/8 to score anytime here.
